Health Makes Someone Rich, Literally!

The measurement of wealth does not reside in money alone. To those who have health, it is perfectly understood that it is also a form of wealth. Health is wealth is an age old quote, which million desire to have or has not yet realized.
Yet, is this quote’s meaning still alive today? Or has our modern thinking changed its real essence to something more foolishly literal?
What I am saying is that people here in the Philippines have taken this age old quote to a more literal level by getting rich selling health supplements. Today, the market here in the Philippines is jam-packed with “Herbal food supplements”, so much that any business minded individual has seriously considered it as their cash cow. Some people say that the ordinary person may even go to the extent of skipping the medicine recommended by their doctors so that they can buy food supplements that claim to “cure all.”
Herbal food supplements are good for our bodies and I have no ill-feeling towards them. In fact we all know that many of these food herbal supplements are well recommended by physicians who are reputable.
The only thing that I am against is how they are being marketed irresponsibly. Many of these herbal food products are advertised as a cure to all diseases even though they are only labeled as only “food supplements” by the Philippine Government’s food and drug bureau. Though many of these products can really cure some sickness, but because they are labeled as only “food supplements”, therefore the public should be informed correctly.
Another thing which makes things uglier is these so called cure-it-all-herbal-food-supplements have not been strictly tested by either government or third party laboratories concerning their claims in curing certain diseases.
By not putting a tight leash on these herbal food supplement companies, the Philippine Government has not done its primary duty of “serving and protecting the Filipino people” and in fact they have done entirely the opposite. I dare the Philippine Government to be faithful to its duty!
